Terms of Service
Drafted 22 July 2026.
Draft — under review
These terms have not yet had a solicitor’s review and may change before launch. Bracketed placeholders like [COMPANY DETAILS] mark facts that will be filled in before this page is final.
These Terms govern your use of Pic’enu (picenu.com), operated by [COMPANY DETAILS]. By using the service as a diner or a restaurant owner, you agree to them. See also our Privacy Policy.
1. What Pic’enu is
Pic’enu is a platform that lets diners search and browse restaurant menus, scan an in-venue QR code, and rate and review dishes; and lets restaurants publish a visual menu, manage it, and — with an active subscription — keep it live to the public.
2. Accounts
Browsing and searching never require an account. Rating or reviewing a dish does. Diner accounts use email + password. Restaurant owner accounts are created during restaurant sign-up. In both cases you must provide accurate information, keep your login secure, and are responsible for activity under your account.
3. Diner content licence & acceptable use
When you submit a rating, a written review, or any other content (“diner content”), you keep ownership of it, but you grant Pic’enu a worldwide, royalty-free, non-exclusive licence to host, display, and reproduce it on the Pic’enu platform for as long as it remains on the service.
Reviews must reflect your own genuine experience of a dish — rating eligibility requires a verified in-venue QR scan. Written reviews are rendered as plain text only; no HTML, links, or scripts are executed.
You must not post content that is defamatory, abusive, illegal, misleading, or that impersonates someone else, and you must not attempt to circumvent the scan-verification eligibility check.
Report & takedown: a restaurant can report any review left on its own dishes; a reported review is hidden from public view pending Pic’enu’s decision. We may remove or edit any content that breaches these terms at our discretion.
4. Restaurant subscriptions
Publishing a menu requires an active Founding Restaurant subscription: £29.99/month, billed via Stripe Checkout, with the first payment taken at your first Publish action — there is no free trial. You can cancel anytime from your billing settings.
If a subscription payment fails, your menu stays live while the payment issue is resolved (a banner appears on your dashboard). If it’s not resolved within 30 days, your menu is automatically unpublished (visitors see a simple holding page) — your account and menu data are retained, never deleted, and republishing resumes instantly once your subscription is active again.
5. Menu content & allergen information
Restaurant owners are solely responsible for the accuracy of everything they publish — dish names, descriptions, prices, ingredients, dietary tags, and allergen information. Pic’enu does not verify allergen claims. Diners with an allergy or dietary requirement should always confirm directly with the restaurant before ordering.
6. Disclaimer & liability
The service is provided “as is”. We do not guarantee the accuracy of restaurant-supplied content (menus, prices, hours, allergen information) or of diner reviews. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Pic’enu is not liable for any loss arising from reliance on content published through the service, including any adverse reaction to food ordered on the basis of menu or allergen information shown on the platform.
7. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and any dispute arising from them is subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
